I Ho’ili Kamali’i: In Leaving a Legacy for the Children of the Land

IHK is a movement founded by Makana to bring culturally oriented music experiences into classrooms throughout Hawai’i. Slack key, nose flute, and other musical implements, sharing of “ha” (breath of life), traditional values, and environmental consciousness themes are explored and demonstrated through talking, questions, singing, and playing of instruments. Typically targeted for 4th grade level, this “de-program” can be shared with all ages.

For more information visit the Hawai’i Arts Alliance website. To book a session at your school, please have a teacher or faculty member click on the poster image below and email the address at the bottom of the poster.

As we populate this blog, photos, video, letters from students & school faculty, and other media generated by IHK sessions will be shared here. Stay tuned!
